Your Ultimate Pre & Post Gym Makeup Routine Guide
- January 23, 2020
If you have an urgent meeting or event to head to immediately after the gym, or there’s very little space between your workout session and office clock-in time, you might not have the option of washing and blow drying your hair each time. Dry shampoo is going to be imperative in keeping those tresses looking glam on super busy days! Some fashionistas even carry a light-weight hair straightener with them – not a bad idea at all!
Again, if you don’t have time to shower after hitting the gym, at the bare minimum you will need to at least clean up with makeup wipes / cleansing towelettes, especially areas like your armpits.
Washing your face after a workout session is an absolute must every single time. Either carry your favorite foaming cleanser or a trusted face wash. In fact, if you have slightly more time on you, we’d recommend a round of face scrub for further impact.
Whether you use a BB creme that serves as a tinted moisturizer with SPF protection, or you use different products for moisturizing and sun protection, both of these layers are a necessity to keep your skin healthy.
Similar to your pre-gym makeup routine, using concealer afterward is a great way to cover up blemishes, without making your face look too done up before work. If you’d like, an ultra light layer of foundation is also an option.
If you’re pressed for time before and after the gym, that probably means you’re a busy lady who is usually on-the-go. So, pick a lipstick that is long-lasting and smudge-proof, which also hydrates your lips. C’mon, you know you don’t want to be bothered by the ordeal of constantly retouching your lips with product, right? Who has time for all that when there are other things to conquer, right?
Lastly, showing your eyes some love is going to make you look fresh as a daisy outside of the gym. A waterproof kohl or eyeliner will last you the entire day, giving your eyes powerful definition. And, waterproof mascara will make your eyelashes look gorgeous. Eyes are the window to one’s soul, so don’t neglect highlighting ’em!
Of course, it goes without saying, always carry deodorant on you – before and after workouts. You don’t want people holding their nose in disgust because you’re smelling stinky!
If your skin looks really red after a workout session, sucking on an ice cube helps reset your face’s flushing and blushing because it makes your temperature go down quickly. Of course, you might not have access to ice or water / juice with ice cubes after the gym always – but, if it is an option, you can keep this trick in mind!
We hope this checklist helps you plan your makeup kit thoroughly so you look great and feel comfortable both in and out of the gym. Taking care of your body by working out is a great step, and taking equal care of your skin and hair is also a wise decision. Keep up the awesomeness, ladies!
